Updates on a lamb

Ok, we have a newcomer.

portrait of a cute lamb

She’s quite the big girl (remember we thought she was a he? continues to show you how much we know. She has a couple of brown spots on the forehead that looked like little horns. Horns -> male. Right? ). She spends the days walking by her mom and trying to suck some milk, while her mom spends her day walking just a couple steps away at a time, just enough to prevent her from getting milk. So, every now and them the little lamb gets a bottle of goat milk, and every now and then I have to hold the mom in place to let the little one leech some milk. Leech some leche, in Spanglish. What? I dunno.

We had the vets come by and take a look at the mom, just in case. Everything’s fine, but we were a bit worried, she has not been acting like usual. After a couple injections of antibiotics and anti-inflamatory she’s back to her old self. But, she hates me now, what with the holding her, injecting her and whatnot, and now she walks away from me when she sees me. I have betrayed this sheep’s trust a lot lately, what can I say.

And well, not much more to say. Everything is going well, so all good. The geese are still laying eggs. Did I tell you about the geese? maybe some other day.
